About Maple Cottage and Quarriers

Maple Cottage in picturesque and historical Quarriers Village offers 4-star accommodation through four 1-2 bedroom furnished holiday flats.

Originally built in 1881 and called Greenock Home, the cottage was extensively refurbished in 2008. Although the term cottage is used for all buildings in Quarriers Village, each property is an individually designed detached Victorian villa.

Quarriers Village was established in 1870s by Glasgow philanthropist William Quarrier, growing over the years from a small farmstead to a thriving, self-sustaining community. At its height, several hundred children lived here. Maple Cottage is run as a social enterprise managed by social care charity Quarriers. Quarriers’ headquarters remain in the village and it is now one of the largest social care charities in Scotland.
